On 19 November the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee South Africa congratulated the six teams that had progressed through the playoff matches the previous night to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, filling the last of the 32 places for the tournament.

The Organising Committee hosted a symbolic flag raising ceremony at its Johannesburg Headquarters, located next to the stadium where the opening and closing matches of the World Cup will be played on 11 June and 11 July 2010, respectively.  The flags of the qualifying countries were raised in celebration and to mark this significant occassion in African sporting history.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Organising Committee, Dr Danny Jordaan, was ecstatic at the calibre of teams that have qualified for South Africa 2010, which is set to showcase the world's best footballers in state of the art, modern stadiums.
