NEW NAME OUTLINES THE DEPARTMENT’S MANDATE

PRESIDENT ZUMA TO HOST AFRICA WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM
South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma will host the 19th World Economic Forum on Africa in Cape Town. The World Economic Forum says President Zuma will address more than 700 leaders from Africa and around the world who will gather from 10 – 12 June.

GLOBAL BOND THREE TIMES OVERSUBSCRIBED
A South African $1,5 billion 10-year global bond has drawn bids of more than $6 billion, the National Treasury said on 20 May. The bond, issued on 19 May, was arranged by Barclays, JP Morgan and Standard Bank.

BRITISH LIONS RUGBY TOUR TO SOUTH AFRICA
The British Lions Rugby Tour to South Africa starts on 30 May 2009 in Rustenburg with a game against the Royal XV. The tour will be the first by the British and Irish Lions to South Africa in 12 years.
