SOUTH AFRICA SENDS 2ND RESCUE TEAM TO HAITI

The South African Government has sent a second team of professionals to assist with rescue efforts in the earthquake devastated Haiti. The team will comprise mainly forensic pathologists who would help identify bodies.
The South African team already in Haiti includes about 40 people, mainly medical staff and engineers. The team took 10 tons of search and rescue equipment as well as medical supplies. South Africa will follow this up with other aid, for example food and more medicine. The City of Tshwane and the charity Gift of the Givers also sent rescue teams.
