STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS BY PRESIDENT JACOB ZUMA

President Jacob Zuma delivered the State of the Nation address in a Joint Sitting of Parliament on 11 February, on the occasion of the 20^th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandela from prison.

 

In his address, the President paid tribute to Nelson Mandela and to the South African people and the international community, whose struggle against apartheid made it possible for South Africa to become a democratic state. The President also appealed to the people of South Africa to recommit themselves to building a better future for all South Africans.
