KE NAKO: AFRICA’S TIME HAS COME
 
The Final Draw for the 2010 FIFA World Cup takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), today, 4 December 2009. The 32 qualifying teams will be allocated their Groups for the Championship, which takes place in South Africa from 11 June – 11 July 2010.
 
This event serves as a celebration for fans of football worldwide, showcases the state of readiness for the tournament and begins the countdown to the kick-off for the 2010 World Cup.
 
During The Draw, information will be provided on where the qualifying teams will be based, as well as on logistical arrangements for the tournament, including accommodation and transportation arrangements for teams and fans.
 
The programme on 4 December includes the presentation of bidding countries for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups. The Russian Federation is one of the countries bidding to host these events. The Embassy of South Africa in the Russian Federation wishes Russia the best of luck in its quest to host the World Cup.
 
The 2010 Final Draw is expected to be addressed by President Jacob Zuma and Local Organising Committee chairman Danny Jordaan and will be presented by FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke and South African Academy Award winner Charlize Theron.

Also making appearances will be football star David Beckham, Ethiopian two-time Olympic gold medalist, Haile Gebrselassie, SA's own cricket star Makhaya Ntini, Springbok captain John Smit and Bafana Bafana defender Matthew Booth.

Other highlights during the event include the world premier of the official mascot, Zakumi. A handmade 3D animation will enable him to interact live on stage with the presenter during the show.

The 90-minute event will be beamed live across the world to more than 200 million people in 200 countries.
