COEGA SEEKS PREFERRED BIDDER FOR POWER PLANT
The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) on 13 July said it wanted to find a preferred bidder for a $4bn gas- turbine power-generating plant within a year to augment the security of SA’s electricity supply.

CHANA AUTO COMPANY INVESTS IN SOUTH AFRICA

SOUTH AFRICAN OLIVE OIL TAKES TOP HONOURS IN ITALY
South African olive oil producer Willow Creek Olive Estate has taken top honours in the prestigious L'Orciolo d'Oro olive oil competition in Gradara, Italy - the world's second biggest producer of olive oil. The competition took place at the end of June 2009.

NISSAN SA TO EXPORT TO ALGERIA
Nissan South Africa has secured a 600-unit-a-month export order from Algeria for its Hardbody 1-ton pick-up. The pick-up units were previously supplied to Algeria from Nissan Motor in Japan.

FINNISH COMPANY TO INVEST AND LIST IN SA
Finnish company, the Ruukki Group, will invest an initial R2 billion in South Africa and plans to list on the JSE, the company said in a statement on 25 May.
